Where in Germany is Jackson

Saturday, August 2
Jackson feels so much better today. I think is rested up and not feeling so sensitive in the back anymore. Change of plans today. We did not go to the North Sea because it isn't that great they said. They also said it is dangerous because of the Tide. It goes out so far that you can walk and walk and then not know when the Tide will come up again. You can be far out into the ocean and not know it. Many have drowned there because they get lost and not know where they are at and then the tide comes in. So,...good reason for us not to go. We went shopping instead:) Even better. We also went to a nice restaurant tonight. We have seen changes in Jackson already. Nothing drastic but obvious changes. I won't say yet because I want to see what others see when we get home and also to see if has to do with the kind of week we have had. With jet lag, going to bed late and getting up late, not eating like we usually do, the treatments, etc, it has been crazy. Pray for a safe flight tomorrow and on Monday and for Lord to work through us. Also pray for Jackson to not have headaches. They said that if he does it will be 2-3 days after the treatment and will last 2-3 days because of something with the fluid they put in with his stem cells. If he sits up he will get one, but if he lies down the headache will go away after 30 minutes. Pray for the flight to go well for him.
THanks again for all your prayers. They are felt here in Germany.

Friday continued...
Jackson is doing much better. He woke up around 2 and then ate some more and we all went to the Netherlands tonight. He was laughing and doing good. He is still tender in the back, but we adjusted and he did well. He should sleep well tonight. Good night!:)

Friday, August 1
I can not believe it is Friday already! This week has gone fast. Jackson woke up feeling a little better. He ate breakfast and drank some milk and then rolled over and went back to sleep after a couple hours. I am staying here with him so he can rest some and then we will probably go out this afternoon and see how he does. Please continue to pray for him that the side effects go away and he can get to feeling better. The good thing is he has not had any medication since last night around 10 and he has not complained so the pain is getting better. Thank you all for your prayers. Please continue to pray also for the regeneration of the stem cells to heal the parts that needs healed and also for safety the next 2 days. By the way, we got up to over 160km yesterday! Crazy! She was going to go 180 and i said we should get there safely so we just went 140:). Svenja was a good driver though:) Look forward to seeing everyone! I will write more later. Going to check on Stonewall:)

Thursday, July 30
It is over! Yeah! Jackson did well. We went in and when they went to put in the IV, we noticed his port had come out some so he could not use that same port. They had to do another one. Poor kid. Anyways,he fell asleep, i went out of the room and in 5 minutes, the Doctor came out and said he is finished. Quick. He woke up fast and grouchy again. We were able to give him some drinks and food. He settled but then later he acted like he was in pain. Through questions, I was able to determine his legs and back hurt and they said that was normal. They gave him a painkiller (no shots) and he went right to sleep. It is 4:45 here and he is still sleeping. He slept all the way home. Please pray that the pain would subside and he would feel much better. It is good he is sleeping. It will lessen the side effects. They were able to get over 7 million stem cells from the bone marrow which was good. Praying!

On a side note we met 2 others today with CP that came from the US and many others today. We talked to so many people. I could go on and on about all the people we met, their stories and what running into them mean to us. For example, we needed a phone because of the money issue (long story), and I met a young girl in the elevator just leaving her dad who was having the same procedure done. She was nervous, scared, we prayed and talked and I ended up telling her my situation and she handed me her cell phone and said, Here use mine. I told her it was international but she insisted. Then a man came over and talked to us that we could use his if we need to later. He had skype and could call for free. We ended up needing to use his also. God is soo good and gave us so many divine appointments. Well, gotta go check on Jack. We miss you all! I will catch up later.

Wednesday, July 29
Ok, so today we slept in a little and then we caught a train and went to Münster for the day. Lots of history there, good shops and good chocolate.:) Ela and her sister took us around. We saw a huge church, amazing! One thing we learned about this church was that there were 3 baskets hanging from the very top that used to be used for those who did not believe in God. They would let them hang there in those baskets until they died. I thought that was sad but also compared (kind of) that to us. We all have a choice to follow Him or not. If we choose not to, we would be like those in the baskets, sentenced to death, an eternal death. If we choose to follow Him, we will have eternal life. I thank the Lord tonight for Mercy. For sending his son, Jesus, to die for us.

Jackson I think liked the church, but was more excited about the chocolate milk, gellato (again) and candy bar. Ok, so that is a lot of chocolate, but your only in Germany once:). He did very well today. I think he is finally over the jet lag. He fell asleep early tonight and was in a pretty good mood most of the day. He still has the port in his arm until the morning. It is 12:30am here and we will leave at 6:00 tomorrow morning and they scheduled us at 9:00 instead (3:00am your time). He will be done at 9:30,port will finally be out and we will be able to leave around 12:30 or so. Jackson keeps trying to pull out the port and laughes about it so I tell him that if he does they will have to put it back in. He then will stop trying to pull it out:) He is a stinker:) A good one though:) Pray for no side effects, that he will do well and he will feel great later. Also for good results if it is the Lord's will. Also, again, pray for safe travels. I do not know yet how fast Ela's sister, Svenja, drives:) It may be faster:) Thank you all for praying and I will keep you all posted! Good night!

Tuesday, July 28
We went arrived at the clinic this morning early and everyone there was so nice. They got us in right away (nothing like our hospitals) and we were out by 12:39 or so. Jackson did great. He laughed all the way up to putting on the goofy hat and gown. I wish i had a picture. I will get one THursday. Judy went in with him because he asked for her to and i heard him cry when they put the needle in. It was not because of the needle because he did not cry at first, it was when he looked at it. Then he was out. When he woke up he was mad. I think he was just tired and hungry. Jet lag still is not going well. We both got 2 hours of sleep last night so he was tired! We drove to McDonalds. Believe it or not, in Germany they do not eat out. If they do it is a sit down fancy restaurant. If they do eat out, it is McDonalds. He was great after that. He was giggling and laughing the rest of the ride home. He slept some tonight and then we went out into the city here and had gellato. Jackson had chocolate sunday and LOVED it! Overall, the day went great. Thank you again for all your prayers. Jackson still has the port in his arm so that on Thursday when we go at 9:00am he will not need to have the needle put in again. It will be done and over it. God is good, all the time. We truly are feeling your prayers. Oh, and there is antoher little boy having the procedure done after Jackson from OH! Crazy! Please pray for him also. I am going to bed for the night. Hopefully we all sleep!

Monday, July 27
Ok, so today was not so good. We all got up around 11 (well, woke Jackson up) and Jackson did not act right. He ended up not eating breakfast and going up to his bed and after checking on him several times, he had thrown up. Thank you all for praying. He fell back asleep and woke up around 6:00 this evening and he ate some food. Judy and Ela had gone to the store to find some more familiar foods. Never thought that would be a problem with Jackson. So, he had pretzles, applesauce, crackers, bread with butter, milk and grape juice and a candy bar and he was happy! I was so thanking Jesus all night:). Our God is soo good. Yep, not so healthy but he at least ate and drank and slept and felt so much better. Jet Lag was not so good with Jackson. So, we did not do much todaz at all. I was able to sit outside in Ela´s families back yard and read and just enjoy the quiet. It is 12:35 hear our time so I better go up to bed. We will leave in the morning at 7:30 for the clinic. Please pray all goes well and Jackson does great in the morning seeing that he can not eat anything before the procedure. He can only drink applejuice. Thank you for your prayers!

Oh and on a side note. Please pray for Judy as we drive tomorrow. The driving makes her very nervous. In Germany there is no speedlimit on the highway. So like the other day we went 180km. You do the math:). All joking aside, please pray for safe travels:)

Hi, my name is Shannon Musselman. My husband and I are involved in ministry here in Düsseldorf, Germany. Düsseldorf is about an hour from Cologne. I have been in email-blog contact with Bekah Moser for over a year. We also adopted our daughter from Guatemala at the same time they were adopting Isa. I just wanted to send you my email address and contact information in case we could be of help in some way. We leave Saturday morning for a conference in the South of Germany, but are here until then. After we leave, we would be available by phone. We have lived in Germany now in this area for about 3.5 years. I saw some of the clinics are near where we are. Please don't hesitate to contact us if we could help in any way. I will be praying for Jackson!
