Big News!

We are going to be adopting a child from India. The process has already started. We turned in the application last November/December, finished Orientation call and packet, sent in first lump sum and are on our way to bringing home a little boy from India. Your probably asking "why?". Well, I've always wanted to adopt at some point and so has Jay. 2 (?) years ago when Drew preached at church on adoption, Jay and I both came home and said the same thing that we wanted to adopt. We were going to attend an adoption seminar the fall of that same year and instead the Lord had other plans, Matea. We found out I was pregnant with her that same week of the seminar. Then last November we talked to another couple, got information, and after praying we decided to go forward with it. We were kind of nervous about turning in the application. If any of you know Jay, the financial part was a huge thing for him.:) For me, it was 3 kids instead of 2 and the financial. Then the day after we filled out the application and had to turn in an initial payment, still nervous and not sure, it was confirmed when my dad paid me for working at the office for him during that time. He said he didn't know how much to pay me (b/c I didn't turn in any hours) so he picked a random number and paid me that much. That amount just so happened to be the amount of the application.

So, there you have it. For us that was confirmation for us to move on with the process. It will take a total of 16-24 monthes until the child (or should I say, our child) comes home. We are excited and nervous at the same time. Excited to see what the Lord has in store for our family. Excited for the opportunity to give a child a home, love, and most of all share Christ's love with.
We just ask that you would pray for us on this journey. Pray for the child, our family and how the structure will change, the process itself, the financial, and travel. I'm sure there will be other prayer requests along the way. Thank you so much and we will keep you all updated! By the way we are going through the organization called All God's Children International. They have been wonderful to work with so far!

James 1:27: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. "

Woa woa woa...Jay actually listened to my sermons? :)

Seriously, though...I am so thrilled/proud/excited for you, and selfishly I am so thankful that Isa will have a cousin with which she'll share something very important in common: they were adopted into that crazy Rychener clan.

Praying,

Drew

It was so fun to talk to you last night! We are so super excited. We were talking to the kids today about their cousin and will be praying for our sweet little nephew and cousin. Benjamin's excited because our friend, Anjali, here is from India. Keep us posted on the pile o paperwork! Too bad your mom can't be your notary! She was fantastic at stamping and signing all of our paperwork!
